Nowadays modelling and simulation are essential tools in most of engineering fields. V-REP (Virtual Robot Experimentation Platform) defined itself as “the Swiss army knife among robot simulators” and thanks to its many features is called to be a reference weapon in intelligent vehicles development. This course introduces the simulator and it basic operation focusing on the multiple applications in this area. After the course, the student will be able to start it owns projects using this software. The main outcome of this course is an initial knowledge of the simulator features and possibilities.

This course presents basic concepts on Supervised Learning which are devoted to both develop and deploy real-world Predictive Analytics frameworks envisaging
applications in the area of Intelligent Transportation Systems. It includes both relevant slides, key references and a guided pratical exercise where the source code is provided.

The purpose of the short course is to introduce the concepts of autonomous vehicles and platooning and associated designs and analysis with emphasis on safety. In addition connectivity will enable the infrastructure to control traffic flow in a much more efficient way.

What are vehicular ad-hoc networks? Which are their benefits? These are two initial questions that any professional in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSS) may raise. In this course we give the audience a broad view of this issue. Once these concepts are learned, this course emphasizes on security and privacy matters of these networks. The student will recognize their relevance and will learn several representative approaches. The main outcome of this course is an initial knowledge of the essential concepts in this area.
